Plus, there’s a thin “lip” on the cover, which makes it easy to open. And when I fold the flap back, it’s held back by the magnets. I just needed to wiggle it a bit to get it seated correctly, and then I flip the flap over it to hold it in place. My pencil is in a thin sleeve and it connects / charges just fine. And unlike that one, this ESR folio has a flap on the front to hold a pencil (it works nicely with and without one). I have been using the case over the last couple of weeks, it has kept my iPad Pro light and accessible, The case is slim and feels not quite like – but really close to – Apple’s folio. No fiddling with covers or prying up two interlocking pieces. Just unsnap it from the back of the iPad and it’s off. The most impressive feature of the Magnetic Slim Case comes from its ease of removal. It will absorb small wide bumps, but will not likely protect from an edge-on drop from a significant height. Screen "protector" not so much, I use the Zugu case which I like but it could be improved upon I guess. Upgrade from 2018 model to 2020 (lidar) model was completely uneccessary unfortunately, but the new M1 iPad Pro with XDR screen is super desireable. The large screen, the friction with Paperlike, and the Pencil with apps like Procreate, Notability and Shapr3D among others, gives me a lot of joy and has now for several years. Then Paperlike2 was released which I got. The joy of drawing on the iPad disappeared. Then people wrote about the moirè distortion effect so got convinced to switch to the japanese matte screen protector, ordered from Tokyo. Used Paperlike1 on iPad Pro 12.9", loved it immensely.
